Position Summary: Under the general direction of Sanitation and Special Projects Manager, this position will work closely with production department and warehouse staff. Assures consistent quality of tote wash service process enforcing good automated manufacturing practice (GAMP) systems; providing documentation and following process as per SOP.

Essential Duties: 

  • Assemble and dismantle tote washing equipment including, but not limited to: valves, pipes and pumps for sanitation service at end of tote wash production shift.
  • Washing and sanitizing totes, collapsible bins, ventilated bins to ensure “safe” and excellent “quality” of tote wash service.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
  • Must be able to read and follow detailed chemical label instructions for sanitation programs and SOP’s
  • Proper handling and usage of chemicals.
  • Must follow PPE practice when handling chemicals and using compressed air if applicable.
  • Performing Good Sanitation Practices (GSP’s) when handling and working with or around equipment.
  • Perform analysis of cleaner strengths on CIP 75 and sanitizers used in the tote, bin sanitation process.
  • Reporting equipment that is damaged, shows wear, or needs replacement to a Supervisor or Team Leader.
  • Responsible for documenting tote, bin service counts, tote wash CIP 75 and disinfectant dilution PPMs.   
  • Perform period sanitation duties
  • Operate CIP systems to clean tote washer in a weekly basis.
  • Perform all required observations and training timely and as scheduled
  • Be willing and able to cross-train on all sanitation responsibilities
  • Supports Plant Sanitation and Quality Systems
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Team Leader, Supervisor, and Manager
  • This position reports to Sanitation and Special Projects Manager
  • Responsible to follow FSQ requirements such as GMP’s and other daily job specific duties to support QRMP

 Education & Experience / Skills & Abilities: 

 Minimum five (5) years industry experience in cleaning and sanitation.

Skills & Abilities:

Self-motivated with proven leadership skills.

  • Must perform job duties efficiently and safely
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to work extended hours, additional days in a week, and flexible shifts with short notice schedule changes
  • Full-time (40+ hours per week, 8 hours per day) potential for overtime

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

In performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; dust, airborne particles, loud noises and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud; ear protection is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for the duration of the production shift. The employee is infrequently required to sit; climb, balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must infrequently lift 50 pounds.
