This position is for our Aviation / Flight Division located at the Penn Yan Airport in Penn Yan, New York.  Seneca Flight has an FAR Part 135 air charter certificate issued by the FAA and operates two aircraft in Penn Yan and one aircraft in Janesville, Wisconsin.  We also have an Agreement with Yates County (owner of Penn Yan Airport) to operate all aspects of the airport.

 

We are seeking a Grounds and Line Service Supervisor to join the team at Seneca Flight.  In this role, you will be responsible for supervising a team that maintains cleanliness of company aircraft and company facilities.  Insures compliance and proper procedures and training for fuel handling and aircraft deicing. Insure airport pavements are maintained in winter (snow and ice removal) and airport grounds and infrastructure are properly maintained. 

Among the duties you are expected to perform are:

  • Utilizing Seneca Flight Operations SMS (Safety Management System) program reporting any and all hazards to insure a safe workplace
  • Maintain cleanliness of aircraft insuring they are available for dispatch on a timely basis including interior, exterior and lav service
  • Insure fuel quality control at our fuel farm and fuel trucks / trailers including timely performance and documentation of inspections, sumping, training and other required actions
  • Insure aircraft deicing quality control including documentation of inspections, mixture and application of product, training and other required actions
  • Insure airport pavements are plowed and deiced as necessary including reporting pavement conditions on FAA NOTAM System
  • Assisting all aircraft by providing FBO services including towing, directing, parking, fueling, lav service, rental car and other services
  • Insure airport grounds are properly mowed and trimmed including use of herbicide vegitation control around airport fencing and lightin
  • Working with the Director of Maintenance, Dispatcher, General Manager and others to insure proper staffing for after hours services for Seneca and transient aircraft 
  • Maintain cleanliness of FBO building and offices
  • Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on airport equipment.  Work with Yates County Highway Department to insure proper maintenance of County owned equipment
  • Work with FBO sales to insure rental vehicles are properly cleaned and ready for rental

 

Qualifications for this position include

  • High school Diploma or equivilent
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment (snow plows, snow blowers, large mowing equipment, aircraft tugs) abnd basic knoweldge of this equipment to diagnose mechanical issues
  • Airport experience is a plus.  Those without that experience will be expected to complete training in
    • NATA Line Services
    • AVFUEL Fuel Quality
    • Deice Operations
