Job Overview:

The Warehouse/Label Line Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment and provide exceptional service to our company and employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, operation, and maintenance of warehouse equipment, including label lines. The ideal candidate will efficiently respond to issues, ensuring minimal downtime and keeping labeling operations running smoothly.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Regular maintenance of labeling lines, including changeovers for efficient production.
  • Perform quick response repairs to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.

 

Mechanical and Electrical Duties:

  • Handle both mechanical and basic electrical tasks effectively.
  • Execute plumbing, welding, and basic electrical repairs using technical tools and instruments.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, adjustments, installations, rebuilds, and fabrication of machinery and system

 

Preventive Maintenance:

  • Record and perform daily, monthly, and periodic maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct inspections to identify and address potential equipment failures, preventing disruptions in production. 

 

Label Line:

  • Successfully operate De-palletizer, Label Machine, Caser, and Case Stacker on Label Lines.

 

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to Lock-Out procedures and Seneca’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Ensure the implementation of necessary safety procedures and safeguards during tasks.

 

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with coworkers on both shifts to ensure optimal equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Promote a cooperative team environment and provide leadership and mentoring within the department.
  • Maintain neat and accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Use computer skills to complete work orders and relevant documentation.

 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest solutions.
  • Maintain a clean work area and contribute to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

 

Flexibility and Direction:

  • Effectively communicate with management and follow directions as required.
  • Be adaptable to shift work and contribute positively to a teamwork-oriented environment.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Technical Skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years of direct mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in industrial mechanics, electronics, and basic electrical work.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Experience using hand tools, welding equipment, drill presses, and industrial repair tools.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting and repairing electrical components using diagnostic devices.
  • Basic computer skills for completing work orders and related tasks.

 

Mathematical and Analytical Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle various situations with limited supervision.
  • Basic math skills for calculating capacities, flow rates, horsepower, and related calculations.

 

Interpersonal and Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating within a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with departments and external vendors.

 

Adaptability and Work Ethic:

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and work in a true teamwork environment with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with a high standard for accuracy.
  • Flexibility to work shift hours as necessary.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

 

Physical and Mechanical Aptitude:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with equipment reassembly.
  • Must have the ability to operate equipment and tools used for maintenance.

 

Leadership and Mentoring:

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide leadership and mentorship to department members.
  • Respectful and cooperative attitude that promotes a positive workplace.

 

Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking:

  • Strong analytical skills to detect and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Proactive approach to identifying improvement opportunities and suggesting solutions.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to adhere to company safety procedures, including Lock-out protocols.
  • Pre-employment aptitude test may be required.
