Job Overview:

As a Warehouse Can Depalletizer Operator at Seneca Foods, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining depalletizer machinery to ensure the efficiency and can quality of our products. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be essential in meeting our production goals. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, able to prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision. Additionally, they should be self-motivated and trustworthy, seeking long-term employment with opportunities for growth.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Depalletizer Operation:

  • Operate machinery efficiently and accurately.
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Verify the brite cans are the correct commodity for the order.
  • Remove cans that have dents or damage prior to introducing them to the label line.
  • Use the P-244 system to account for the number of brite cans used for the work task.
  • Ensure the Label Line Downtime Log is consistently updated to record issues on the label line for future analysis.

 

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance on depalletizer equipment and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Maintain production records and reports as required.

 

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the production team to meet production targets.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with label line operations or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate a can depalletizer and the P244 inventory system.

 

Adaptability and Attributes:

  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
  • Commitment to safe behavior
  • Strong attention to details and familiarity with Seneca coding for brite and finished items.
  • Demonstrated positive approach to job tasks, including excellent punctuality and attendance.
  • Takes the initiative, proactively seeking opportunities to improve processes and to keep busy.
  • Values accountability and strives for continual self-improvement.

 

Personal Qualities:

  • Self-motivated and a team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.

 

Work Schedule:

  • Availability for a Monday – Friday shift from 4:30 pm – 3:00 am, with overtime as needed based on production and customer requirements.
