Job Overview:
The Production Mechanic plays a critical role in our manufacturing operations, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of production machinery and equipment. This position involves performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and fabrication tasks to support the continuous flow of production and maintain equipment reliability. The Production Mechanic is a skilled technician responsible for minimizing downtime and contributing to overall production efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Machine Maintenance and Repair:
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks on production machinery to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime.
- Perform necessary repairs, adjustments, or replacements of faulty machine components.
Preventive Maintenance:
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules for production equipment.
- Replace worn or damaged parts proactively to prevent breakdowns and ensure reliability.
Safety and Compliance:
- Commitment to safety protocols and compliance with regulations.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and safety standards, ensuring compliance.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and fabrication work.
- Report equipment issues and maintenance needs to supervisors.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with production teams to prioritize and address equipment-related issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance to operators and maintenance staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical disciplines is a plus.
- Mechanically inclined with high mechanical aptitude.
- Proven experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects when necessary.
- Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
- Ability to effectively use computers and technology.
Work Environment:
The Production Mechanic works primarily in a manufacturing or production facility. This role may require occasional work in various conditions, including exposure to loud machinery, hot surfaces and temperatures, wet/cold environment, fumes, and dust. Proper safety equipment (PPE) and precautions are essential to ensure a safe working environment.
