Assigned mechanical job duties to maintain and repair food processing equipment. Completes repairs during the processing season to meet production goals. Overhaul and install plant equipment during non-production periods to be ready for the next scheduled production run.



  • Able to read, write and maintain daily logbook as well as a seamer logbook
  • Ability to read, use and understand micrometers, calipers, force cell gauge
  • Ability to weld—stick, mig & tig
  • Use of plasma cutter, acet/oxy torch
  • Posses basic hand-tools
  • Ability to read and understand operator and maintenance manuals
  • Ability to overhaul and PM equipment with proper training.
  • Understand and maintain InkJet coders with training.
  • Maintain all Seamers to manufacturers specs.
  • Maintain all fillers that relates to good fill specs as prescribed by QA.
  • Maintain seamers to operate within can manufacturers specifications to facilitate good seams on cans
  • Ability to do seam checks on all seamers with proper training.
  • Work in other areas of plant when directed by immediate supervisor or by supervisor in charge.
  • Maintain all other equipment not listed above from infeed can track to infeed can track to cooker.
  • Know, Understand and Use lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Work within all of plant safety programs.
  • Responsible for lubrication of equipment in fill/close area.
  • Ability to work with outside vendors/contractors when necessary.
  • Ability to work nights during production periods or otherwise directed by supervisor
  • Ability to work overtime during busy season or when directed by supervisor
