Seneca Foods Corporation’s Hart, MI facility is currently seeking a Sorter/General Labor candidate to join our team.  The Hart facility focuses on primarily producing quality products, which include Maraschino Cherries, Glace Fruit, and Ingredient Cherries.

Responsibilities:

  • Discard or reject product not meeting specifications
  • Inspect, weigh, or measure materials and products for conformance to specifications
  • Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems
  • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions
  • Grade and sort products according to sizes, weights, colors, or other specifications
  • Inspect glass at light box inspection station
  • Weigh product containers to verify packaging weights and ingredient quantities
  • Push stems down with two fingers into jar before syrup filling
  • Place tamper resistant shrouds onto individual containers prior to heat shrink
  • Attach plastic lids to container
  • Form, tape, and line cases by hand for finished product packaging
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Internal GMP/HACCP/BRC Training
  • Trained and knowledgeable in the use of  PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Must pass respiratory fitness test

 

Wage is $18.83 per hour.
