Seneca Foods is one of North America's leading providers of packaged fruits and vegetables with facilities located throughout the United States.  Our high quality products are primarily sourced from over 2,000 American farms. Seneca holds the largest share of of the retail private label, food service, and export canned vegetable markets, distributing to over 90 countries. Products are also sold under the brands of Libby’s®, Aunt Nellie’s®, READ®, Seneca Farms®, Green Valley®, CherryMan®, Paradise®, Pennant®, and Seneca labels, including Seneca snack chips. Seneca also provides vegetable products to other companies under various co-pack arrangements.

Seneca Foods Corporation’s Glencoe, MN facility is currently seeking Agricultural Interns to join our team. In Glencoe, we do it all! We have a full time Labeling department, Frozen Corn on the Cob Packaging department, Field Reps to meet with local growers, and many Mechanics who make it possible to run a successful production! The Glencoe facility focuses on primarily Canning and Freezing, Peas, Lima Beans, Sweet Corn and Carrots. Our Peak Production season typically starts mid June and wraps up mid November. Internships are through our Pack season, June-November, but are flexible with school schedules. Seneca Foods offers competitive pay with a hands on learning experience for students! Many of our previous interns have been offered full time employment after graduation. Qualifications: 

• Current student in college (no year requirement, 1 year students are encouraged to apply!)
• Background or interest in pursuing a career in Ag Business, Crop/Soil Sciences, or Farm Management 

Training/Internship Plan Outline:

• Assist field team with planting operations and scheduling
• Skill building in scouting, crop maturity assessment, crop quality assessment, and crop harvesting logistics
• Skill building in team management, training, raw product evaluation and flow, and harvest scheduling
• Opportunities to learn harvest equipment functions and raw product harvesting process
• Develop an understanding of raw product flow including truck routing, product grading, and harvest planning
• Opportunities for projects that compliment your skills and interests to enhance overall productive and reduce costs of the business
• Communication skills with growers, landowners, department leads, and other Seneca processing plants

Both planting and harvest activities require attention 7 days a week; there will be opportunities for overtime as well as time-off to fit with commitments both for school and personal. There is always something going at Glencoe during the Pack season and you will have many opportunities to learn many things from many people!
