Senior Programmer Analyst

Seneca Foods is one of North America's leading providers of packaged fruits and vegetables with facilities located throughout the United States.  Our high quality products are primarily sourced from over 2,000 American farms. Seneca holds the largest share of of the retail private label, food service, and export canned vegetable markets, distributing to over 90 countries. Products are also sold under the brands of Libby’s®, Aunt Nellie’s®, READ®, Seneca Farms®, Green Valley®, CherryMan®, Paradise®, Pennant®, and Seneca labels, including Seneca snack chips. Seneca also provides vegetable products to other companies under various co-pack arrangements.

Seneca Foods is seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst.  The successful candidate will be responsible for development and support of enterprise applications.  

Position Summary:

• This is not a remote position, and the environment is an indoor office.
• Play a leadership role as a senior IT professional.  Take initiative to work collaboratively with IT managers and peers. Establishes positive working relationships across the organization.
• Responsible for software development activities including authoring of business requirements, solution, and technical specifications; development of custom software, authoring of developer test plans, execution of developer testing and documentation for migration of software into a production environment. 
• Provide technical input and recommendations on specific software solutions.
• Support business units by researching issues and questions to determine root cause, identify course of action and bring issue/question to resolution.
• Adhere to the documented SDLC process, creating and filing appropriate documentation as prescribed by the process.  Utilize the standardized support tools established for IT.
• Manage your time and daily activities to satisfy work assignments, performance, and deliverables.  Communicate status of work assignments.
• Manage development of various solutions from requirements to production including estimating, requirements, specifications, development, user interface, report development, testing, and security.

Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or related field and/or five plus years of related experience.

• Five plus years’ experience optimizing PL SQL code and ability to write raw SQL. Tune code by running Explain Plans and Trace.
• Five plus years of in-depth knowledge of creation and modifying existing table structures, stored procedures, triggers, packages, functions, and views.
• Senior or expert level of knowledge regarding Oracle PL/SQL experience required.
• Oracle Forms, Reports, APEX desired.
• Agile/Scrum methodology, HTML5 / JavaScript and/or working knowledge of MS Visual Studio and C# is a plus.
• Ability to build positive working relationships across the organization, service oriented. Working independently or in larger teams as needed.
• An organized and analytical thinker with the ability to develop and deliver maintainable and scalable solutions.
