Position Summary

 

WORKS UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE PLANT MANAGER AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR A WIDE RANGE OF DUTIES RELATED TO THE UPKEEP OF THE FACILITY AND ITS PROCESSING EQUIPMENT.

 

Essential Functions

  • Read and understand blueprints, sketches, diagrams and operating manuals.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control circuits.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to weld parts or structures.
  • Ability to fabricate parts, guards, etc., as needed.
  • Ability to operate production line equipment unassisted.
  • Ability to repair and install plumbing systems.
  • Be aware of and follow all safety techniques, including lockouts, bump caps, confined space, electrical safety and consistently comply with all facility safety procedures.
  • Ability to work with and on compressed air systems, solenoids, air cylinders, piping, etc.
  • Ability to train maintenance and production personnel on proper procedures pertaining to plant equipment.
  • Demonstrate consistent behavior indicating the capacity and willingness to function as an independent maintenance technician for the entire facility, needing only limited direction.
  • Accurate paperwork completion; maintain records/documentation as required.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Competencies and Certifications Required

 

  • Good communication skills
  • Internal GMP training.
  • Trained and knowledgeable in the use of personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Must pass respiratory fitness test.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • OSHA forklift license.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Physical Demands of Job

 

  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Occasional lifting or pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional climbing, bending, stooping and twisting.
